Oregon Consensus provided facilitation services to the Oregon Governor’s Task Force on Genetically-Engineered Agriculture. The task force identified and framed the major issues between growers of genetically-engineered (GE) agricultural products and other producers, including organic growers. The task force also identified areas of alignment and disagreement related to GE and non-GE food products, including information for consumers, and strategies that other states and regions have used to address these areas of concern.
The task force has provided a final report to the Governor. With information from the report, the Governor will work with legislators and other interests to determine whether additional steps should be taken to address the issues identified by the task force.
