The Recreation, Education, and Innovation (REI) program, housed within the State Forests Division of the Oregon Department of Forestry, is embarking on a strategic visioning process to develop internal agency agreement on a vision and common set of values for the REI program, as well as a process for future strategic planning that explores how the REI program should focus time and resources in order to best ensure relevance and value to the Oregon Department of Forestry and public users in the next 5-7 years and beyond. This will set the REI program up for a second phase of strategic planning involving internal and external partners and stakeholders, and will be tied in with broader division strategic planning and updates to the Forest Management Plan in 2021.
